Educational Outreach and Resources
Our Mission
UASPACE is a University of Alabama student organization which is currently working to successfully launch and orbit the University of Alabama’s first satellite. In addition to the technical work that the organization is doing, team members are actively working in the local Tuscaloosa community to inspire the next generation of students to pursue STEM fields.
By visiting elementary, middle and high schools in our area and showing students the wonders of space exploration, UASPACE is training the next generation of systems-focused engineers. While visiting these schools, we provide students with hands-on experience with 3D printed CubeSats, host games to teach about space debris and provide projects to encourage space exploration. UASPACE aims to provide local students with the confidence that they too can share UASPACE’s passion for space exploration and achieve a higher education to one day become the next generation of engineers.

Educational Resources
Worksheets
In March 2020, we adapted our outreach plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to still serve the students of Alabama and the nation, our team created various K-12 math and science activities and worksheets. Since then, we have used these resources at outreach events both in-person and virtually.
Our hope is that you will share these lessons with teachers, parents, students and children to help foster the same passion for space that our team has. Download the files below for your classroom or child. All we ask of you is to fill out this Microsoft Form, so we know who is using our resources!
